Why See a Cardiologist?

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in Canada. Sometimes heart disease is caused by our lifestyle decisions such as obesity, smoking, or physical inactivity. In other situations, genetic factors predispose individuals to a greater risk of developing an issue. Our cardiologists are here to help you take control of your cardiac health. Whether you have an underlying condition that needs repair, monitoring of known heart disease, or preventative measures to ensure you do not develop heart disease in the future; our cardiologists are here for you.

It is very common for individuals who are not experiencing any symptoms but have a strong family history of heart disease, or underlying co-morbidities (such as hypertension and diabetes) to have their heart assessed by a cardiologist. It is always best to detect the disease as early as possible to prevent its progression.

Such exams include:

Your cardiologist will review all of your test results before discussing with you if any further testing or treatment is needed.
